Dr Rose Sivam CEO

Rose leads the team at Pantheon Media. She has produced programmes for Channel 4 (UK), ARD (Germany), BBC International, ESPN Star Sports, Fox Television, ASTRO, TVBS, Mediacorp and StarHub.

In 2005, in partnership with the United Nations, she drove the Eco4theWorld project and developed the pilot for a global television series. As consultant to the Singapore Turf Club (1998 - 2002), she and her team raised the club’s international profile. By syndicating its race rights, they brought in a new revenue stream for the club. As Division Head of Media, she also produced racing programmes for international broadcast and held key positions in the international team that event-managed the Club’s Official Opening Ceremony at Kranji Racecourse in 2000.

Consultant positions in the Programming and Production Group of Malaysia’s MEASAT Broadcast Network Systems (ASTRO) saw Rose start up the Drama Division in 1997. As journalist with Singapore Press Holdings, then executive producer with Mediacorp, Rose covered various political, economic and social issues and events. In the Singapore media scene, she is best known as the creator of Phua Chu Kang Pte Ltd. A versatile film and television director, she also directs ‘Live’ multi-camera productions (concerts, game shows, variety specials and stage performances), documentaries, current affairs, entertainment and drama productions.

Rose lectures and conducts seminars on communication strategy and mass communication. Her doctoral thesis titled, “Television Sans Frontières: Globalisation Imperatives for Singapore’s Television Industry” made waves in the Singapore Media industry when first published – the implications of the research have led to changes in government policy. She also holds an MA in Mass Communications (Oklahoma City University), an MEd in School Counselling (State University of New York, Buffalo) and BA (National University of Singapore). She is a volunteer with the Art of Living Foundation.
